The Merkur Safety Razor fits all Double Edge blades that are inserted into the shaving head with a screw cap.
First of all, the safety razor with its razor-sharp blades deserves respect when it comes to handling. The head of the razor does not move as you would expect from modern razors. After a short period of familiarization and a steady hand, you will be able to achieve a very smooth shave with this safety razor.
This safety razor has an open comb and shaves more directly than a blade with a closed comb. Ideal for coarser and longer beards.

Soap the beard hairs well with a shaving soap or shaving oil to thicken and soften the beard hairs. Start at the sideburns and apply the Safety Razor to the skin at an angle of about 30 degrees. Pull the skin taut and slide the blade over the skin with light pressure, shaving with the hair growth.
